The Office of the Second Judicial District Attorney improves the quality of life of the citizens of Bernalillo County by reducing crime through thoughtful enforcement of the law and the development of a criminal justice system. The Office is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and is seeking applicants for an Investigator in our Process Locate Division at the Second Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Locate witnesses and serve subpoenas and other legal documents. Interview witnesses and take statements. Research investigative leads and provide logistical assistance with witnesses and evidence; testify in court; coordinate efforts with other law enforcement agencies.
- Knowledge of criminal law and procedures. Knowledge of interview skills and surveillance techniques. Investigatory skills, writing skills, communication skills, typing skills and data entry. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other law enforcement agencies; ability to interact effectively with the public and follow directions and policies.
- Requirements: Associates degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, social sciences, or related field, plus two years’ work experience in related field.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, social sciences, or related field and 4 years of relevant work experience. Clean driving history.
- Job Requirements/Working Conditions: Most work is performed in the field with frequent physical effort and traveling in a state vehicle. Some work is performed in an office environment. May be required to be on-call during non-working hours. May encounter dangerous situations.
